BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM: Scholarship

This project supports poor, disadvantaged children ages 6-16 in remote villages in Nepal. Scholarships cover: school uniforms, shoes, backpacks, stationary, water bottles, raincoats, warm jackets for winter, on-site tutoring and extracurricular activities through school year. Our team and our volunteers on the ground play very important roles, providing the kids with strong role models, incentives to stay in school, opportunities to build self-esteem, to identify and address problems in their own community, and most of all, to have fun together. This program 
focuses on helping orphans and children whose families are not financially capable of paying for education and to address the high dropout rates by keeping kids in school.

$350 – Educate one child for one year
$1,000 – Educate three children for one year
$5,000 – Sponsor five families and send all of their children to school

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT: Foundation

This project supports poor, disadvantaged children ages 3-5 in Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centers. SYMF equips the centers with furniture, carpet, learning materials and toys. Our team and our volunteers on the ground are involved in regularly scheduled activities for the children focusing on learning by playing. This project is aimed to support ECD graduates with enrollment in various local schools.

$350 – Educate one child for one year
$1,000 – Educate three children for one year
$5,000 – Sponsor one educational center for one year

MENSTRUAL HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAM

Our comprehensive program focuses on Menstrual Health Education, Menstrual Kit Distribution and establishment of Girls Clubs to ensure continued education. SYMF interactive workshops help girls, women and men to learn about anatomy, menstrual hygiene, and pad making techniques. We provide tools that make menstruation manageable and safe. Most importantly, our goal is to keep girls in schools during their periods as it is the turning point where they are most likely to discontinue schooling.

$250 – 10 girls will be educated about menstrual health & will receive menstrual kit
$1,000 – 40 girls will be educated about menstrual health & will receive menstrual kit
$5,000 – The whole community will be educated about menstrual health and safe practices
